How to Care for Your Shenmu Piece
Each Shenmu piece is handcrafted using natural and carefully selected materials. A little thoughtful care will help preserve its appearance, scent, and character over time.
General Care
- Avoid prolonged contact with water, humidity, sweat, perfume, lotions, oils, and household chemicals.
- Remove your bracelet before showering, swimming, exercising, sleeping, or doing activities that may expose it to moisture or impact.
- Avoid dropping, pulling, stretching, or knocking your piece against hard surfaces.
- Keep away from prolonged direct sunlight, excessive heat, and very humid environments.
Incense & Herbal Beads
Handcrafted incense and herbal beads may naturally change slightly in color, texture, and scent with wear. This is part of the character of the material.
To help preserve the scent, avoid water, perfume, lotions, and excessive moisture. When the bracelet is not being worn for an extended period, store it in a clean, dry, sealed container away from direct sunlight and heat.
The intensity of the natural scent may gradually soften over time depending on wear, storage, temperature, and humidity.
Crystals & Natural Stones
Natural crystals and stones may contain variations in color, pattern, clarity, inclusions, or surface texture. These natural characteristics make each piece unique.
Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, prolonged soaking, and strong impact, as some natural stones may be more delicate than others.
Bodhi Seeds & Wood
Bodhi seeds and natural wood may gradually develop changes in tone and surface appearance through regular handling and wear.
Keep these materials dry and avoid soaking them in water. Store them away from excessive humidity, heat, and prolonged direct sunlight.
Metal Components
Metal accents may naturally change in appearance over time due to contact with air, moisture, skin oils, perfume, and other products.
After wearing, gently wipe metal components with a soft, dry cloth and keep them dry when stored.
Elastic Bracelets
For elastic bracelets, avoid pulling or stretching the bracelet excessively. When putting it on or taking it off, gently roll the bracelet over your hand rather than pulling it open forcefully.
Storage
When not in use, store your Shenmu piece separately in its pouch, box, or a clean, dry container to reduce exposure to moisture, dust, friction, and direct sunlight.
For scented pieces that will not be worn for an extended period, sealed storage can help preserve their natural aroma.
